As a Business Solutions Office data architect you will work collaboratively with IT architects engaged in systems modernization design and planning activities to make sure that business data needs are represented, and included in data governance, data sharing and data management discussions, planning and associated design decisions. You will provide forums for and engage business and IT management and data experts in cross-agency discussions to ensure IT architects and developers have the necessary information they need to clearly understand the data and data sharing needs of DHS, counties, tribes, persons served and entities that provide client services.
Representing business and its data needs, serve as the Business Solutions Office data architect. Provide enterprise-level data perspective and serve as a BSO data architect working collaboratively with IT architects engaged in systems modernization design and planning activities. Sponsor IT projects on behalf of business.
Provide data management policy and process transformation leadership as the agency and its partners change how the enterprise names, shares, stores, transfers and provides oversight for its data. Foster the development of the business foundations needed for enterprise level data governance and manage efforts to enlist, prepare and engage management and staff in data oversight associated roles.
Oversee the establishment of an agency-wide network of data stewards and ensure that these individuals have the connections, resources and tools needed to perform in this role. Provide direction and consult for data stewards and their management.
Serve on enterprise architecture and systems modernization governance and project teams; lead workgroups and manage the development of needed deliverables. Provide the business data architect viewpoint, enterprise perspective, research and oversight of needed deliverables.
Sponsor, staff and conduct enterprise level complex studies and projects associated with data, data dependencies, data management and exchange and use findings in association to inform Systems Modernization and data management associated business transformations.
Provide direction to assigned staff.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience and 4 years advanced professional experience demonstrating the following:
Working in data management positions reflecting multiple data sources and managing competing data needs.
Knowledge of federal and state data practices and privacy requirements.
Developing business/data architecture to inform IT systems development.
Managing cross-divisional complex projects
Working with human services data at the local, state or federal level.
Using two or more data analytics tools
Bachelors Degree in related field may substitute for 1 year of experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field may substitute for 18 months of experience.
